I have let this post sit for a little over a week but alas no replies.
It is too little too late I think for this forum. This dinosaur that used to be the life of Collings is now just fossil remains of what once was.

Fancier wood always has at least a psychological positive factor on tone. In reality, the figure of the wood may or may not be correlated to tone. In general, darker versions of some of the common woods MAY be a little more lush but not guaranteed.

Sitka is a great wood. The key with all woods is the tonal quality. There is a ton of sitka out there and most of it is good. There is some out there though that is superior.
