Re: C10 sighting - Mumford & Sons - Tiny Desk at NPR

Always good to see Collings on the big (tiny) stage. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Six and a half years of Collings.net

Thanks, Frank. I usually check the forum once/week and select the "Active Topics" link. Recently, there were none. So, I held off checking and missed Silly's recent post.

I regret that I don't have any knowledge or info to answer his query. Perhaps that points to another category: users might read ...

Re: Martin D12-20 1965

Quite nice! I've tried a couple 60s Martin 12 strings. My desire for one (or for a Collings!) has been sated (I hope) by a quite good late 90s Alvarez-Yairi 12 string...

Re: Six and a half years of Collings.net

Despite the lack of forum "activity," this young thread already tops 1,000 views? Bots, bots, everywhere... :?

Re: Six and a half years of Collings.net

Thank you for posting this info, Frank.
I'm most sorry that the bulk of the work is fighting spam and bots. Sigh.
Within my spheres of interest (guitar, mtn. bikes), all forums are dwindling in activity. I like the idea of this existing as a resource, but maybe that's less necessary these days?

Re: NGD - 02H 12-string

Congrats, and welcome to the forum! Kudos especially for getting a sunburst one!

Similar to you, after 40+ years, I acquired my first 12-string (inexpensive early '70s Japanese make; during the pandemic). Since then, I have tried to resist the siren song of the 01 or 02, because Collings. I ...

Two prototypes

As noted in the Acoustic forum, The Music Emporium is selling two prototype electrics: the 620 SM LC and the 71. The former is an evolution of the Statesman, reaching for a Gretsch vibe (e.g., trestle brace). The pickups look quite interesting, sort of like staple P90s (one single and one double ...

New model line: Hill Country Series

The Music Emporium emailed me about a new model line of acoustic guitars from Austin: the Hill Country series. So far, a D1A, OM1, and OM2 (tho I think one is only a prototype). Apparently Collings showed these at the recent Fretboard Summit in Chicago. They sound great, in a more traditional ...
