The 3 grade is the to of the line. Best woods, workmanship etc.. I have one from 1996 that
has served me well since then. When I bought it I compared it to buying a d28 when it was
the top of the line.

I have a 1996 D3 that I have played actively for the last 20+ years and one comment I
remember was “you couldn’t have a better guitar. I hope yours sounds as good as mine.
