Popsicle Brace Through The Years...

I just picked up a 2018 D1AT that has no popsicle brace.

Currently Collings uses an "abbreviated" popsicle brace or sound board graft as they call it.

Were 2018's made without popsicle brace or was this possibly a custom?

Weird guitar...Still smells of lacquer and very little wear. Sounded pretty weak compared to my 2013 D1A but string change and some pounding the strings is opening it up. I'm still not sold on it. Bought online and have a 48 hour trial period.

I know my D1a would tighten up a bit if I don't play it for a week or more and takes some time....

Also I caught wind that new D1AT's had a recent price increase. I was after a new one at $8200 and then saw another satin finish one at $9200 from a large reputable store. Satin should be cheaper so i was in dialogue trying to find out what's up and finally said they just got word of price increase! So $6000 for a mint D1A WITH Trad case too seems like a steal!
