$4,750
2004 Collings D1A, serial #10337. A great-playing, great-sounding example of the classic Collings mahogany dreadnought, with the clarity, power and projection these guitars are known for.
Collings customer service recently confirmed the guitar shipped from their Austin shop on December 7, 2004. Factory specifications below directly from Collings.
Factory specs include:
Adirondack spruce top
Honduran mahogany back & sides
Honduran mahogany neck
Pre-war scalloped X-bracing
Ebony fingerboard with MOP long dots
Ebony belly-style bridge, 2 3/16" spacing
1 11/16" bone nut
25 1/2" scale
Modified V neck profile
14"–26" compound fingerboard radius
Nickel Waverly tuners
Tortoise binding and pickguard
High-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer body finish
Equipped with a Fishman Matrix pickup system and is ready for the stage.
Condition: Very Good. This guitar has been well cared for and always properly humidified. There are no cracks, repairs or structural issues, and no fret or fingerboard wear. It has a couple of cosmetic marks from gigging, all shown clearly in the photos with pencil for scale. The marks on the side are in the finish only and do not penetrate the wood. Inspected by a local luthier who confirmed this. Any apparent marks or shadows not accompanied by pencil are due to glare and difficulty in photographing finish.
The guitar was recently inspected at The Music Emporium in Lexington, MA and is in excellent playing and structural condition, no work recommended.
This is not a new, mint or collector-condition guitar, and it isn't priced as one. It's a healthy, well-cared-for 22-year-old D1A that's been played and has that killer classic Collings sound. Great guitar at a good price. Local pick up in MA or you pay shipping.
Includes the Collings TKL hardshell case - which was never used and is in excellent condition.
Just purchased a Brazilian Rosewood Dred and have to thin the heard. Please DM me with any questions.
